Using Hip-Hop As A Tool For Positive Self-Expression & Creative Learning
(Augusta, GA) — Supreme MCs Rule and Jetloud Entertainment, LLC are proud to announce their Hip-Hop Creative Expression Event and Supply Drive on October 1, 2016 from 1-4pm at Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Augusta (1442 Harper Street Augusta GA 30901). SMR’s goal is reach the inner city youth and help them overcome their tumultuous issues through musical and artistic expression.
The problems facing today’s inner city students, particularly those with behavioral and emotional problems, are innumerable and daunting. These issues can become overwhelming, easily causing a child to lose focus in school, ultimately causing them to drop out. It only takes a creative spark to inspire these very kids to stay in school and avoid negative activities, which inner-city Augusta youth desperately needs.
The SMR Hip-Hop Creative Expression Event will introduce Augusta and surrounding areas to our program that is designed to expose children to the performing arts, giving them an opportunity to explore their creative talents and benefit from the positive psychological effects of music on childhood development.
Led by SMR founder and Hip-Hop artist Selah Jetloud Guru, participants will learn how to write/construct songs, learn about music editing and mixing followed by career options in music producing as well as receive a download of free industry standard music editing software. Participants will also have the opportunity to sign up for free studio sessions and free recording of a collaborative music video. In addition, SMR will be collecting supplies for the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Augusta. To register for the class, please visit www.suprememcsrule.com a
