Give youth a creative outlet to express themselves in a positive way in the community.
Supreme MCs Rule (a community-based program) is an expressive music arts program using Hip-Hop culture to engage elementary, middle and high school students, addressing inner emotions, life situations and conflict resolution skills. The goal is for youth to reflect on past experiences and current life situations by connecting with Hip-Hop lyrics, using them to discover a new talent, increasing their self-worth.
“I loved using professional software and recording in an actual studio.”
— Caleb (Age 13)
“I want to thank you all for creating this event for me and all the other aspiring artists out there. I know once I will learn a lot of stuff I probably don't know and I'm ready for it!”
— RuJean (Age 17)
“The studio experience back in December was amazing. And the class taught me so much about expressing my creativity and using my voice. I am headed off to college soon where I am majoring in Education, possibly something to do with music. I just want y'all to know I am beyond grateful for the opportunity and I love what y'all are doing. Keep it up because it changes lives. For real. I still live my life by that quote Mr. Selah said "Do what you love. No Fear. Period."”
— Justin (Age 17)
